Me & Mic

My career has zigzagged with the predictability of a tipsy sorority gal during rush week.

First college job? Radio station. (And I've got a hi-larious story about that accidental hiring.)

Artsy public relations job in NYC followed by a sharp right turn on to a Wall Street trading desk. Weird zig to craft a telephony-based bed & breakfast search engine (a la Moviefone), then a zag, a game-changing opportunity to host the Dawn Patrol, a snarky financial podcast. Hot yoga, 9-1-1, high school librarian, ah-mazing public speaker.

The theme admidst all those job shifts? Me rocking a microphone.
It wasn't until my 50s, LOL, when I realized I could actually go to a storytelling event, where I'd be invited to come on stage and talk into a microphone, with a topic of my choosing. Oh, the possibilities are endless. My stories have been featured on NPR, KUOW, KEXP, and Seattle Town Hall. Click here for some fun videos.
